CO2 Should Be Celebrated, Not Captured
A group known as the CO2 Coalition has just issued a report concluding carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions are at an all-time low and instead of being captured, we should produce more.
On February 8, 2024, the CO2 Coalition examined the actual and projected effects of the climate on the State of Wyoming to basically refute a “decarbonization” policy adopted by Wyoming’s Governor Mark Gordon.
In late 2023, the Governor gave a speech at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Institute of Politics stating:
It is clear that we have a warming climate. It is clear that carbon dioxide is a major contributor to that challenge. There is an urgency to addressing this issue.
Gordon obviously accepts that there will be CO2-driven climate change disasters and to reduce the state’s production of carbon dioxide, he advocates that Wyoming become “carbon negative” using carbon capture technology to remove more CO2 from the atmosphere than is emitted by the people and industries of the state.
This has become a common theme across the nation with the passage of the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. Every state is being inundated with federal funding to promote net-zero, carbon-capture, and alternative energy solar and wind schemes to avert purportedly catastrophic atmospheric warming.
This research concludes that Wyoming – like the planet – is benefiting from warming that began more than 300 years ago. Efforts to reduce CO2 emissions are unnecessary and exorbitantly expensive and would make no measurable difference in temperature.
