While the 16th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP16) are meeting in Santiago de Cali, Colombia, a group of nations are also attending a program called “Knowledge for Life,” sponsored by the E.O. Wilson Biodiversity Foundation, that is focusing on “lands and waters critical to protecting biodiversity.”
Known as the “Half-Earth Day” event, this “Knowledge for Life” program will discuss actions committed nations have taken over the past two years under the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (Framework) signed on December 15, 2022, in Montreal, Canada.
They are to “show the alignment of their National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans (NBSAPs) with the Framework. COP 16 will further develop the monitoring framework and advance resource mobilization for the Global Biodiversity Framework.” They are developing satellite data down to one kilometer where they determine the health and quantity of species and vegetation in a given region.
The Framework formally commits signatory nations to place in permanent protection at least 30 percent of the World’s lands, oceans, and inland waters by the year 2030, with the long-term goal of “conserving” 50 percent by 2050.
Specifically, Target 3 of the Framework states:
“Ensure and enable that by 2030 at least 30 percent of terrestrial, inland water, and of coastal and marine areas, especially areas of particular importance for biodiversity and ecosystem functions and services, are effectively conserved and managed through ecologically representative, well-connected and equitable governed systems of protected areas and other effective area-based conservation measures…”
However, the Half-Earth crowd intends to protect half the land and sea by 2050 “in order to manage sufficient habitat to reverse the species extinction crisis and ensure the long-term health of our planet.”
Fortunately, the United States was not a signatory to the Convention on Biological Diversity, but that has not stopped the Biden administration from implementing the same program in America.
If you recall, the United States was not a signatory to the Montreal document because in 1992, the U.S. Senate refused to adopt its predecessor known as the United Nations Biodiversity Treaty. Secret maps were revealed that showed massive amounts of American land they intended to remove from all human use and ownership, which proves how far back this whole 30×30 issue has been discussed and desired.
Patriots Michael Coffman, Craig Rucker with CFACT, Henry Lamb and Tom DeWeese discovered the maps and made them public. And, because of that action in 1992, the Biden administration was not able to sign onto the Framework in 2022.
But, that didn’t stop Biden or his fervent followers from saving “Mother Earth.” Since signing Executive Order 14008, the Biden administration claims they have “protected” an additional 42 million acres through multiple programs, policies, proclamations, and funding sources.
They have become extremely creative and devious in their schemes to take and preserve our nation’s lands and waters by enticing landowners with billions of our tax dollars. They have set traps for unsuspecting landowners to sign up for conservation programs funded with Inflation Reduction Act money that changed the purpose of these programs to mitigate climate change, manage agriculture production and reduce livestock emissions.
Their goal is to control as much private property as possible through government conservation programs and conservation easements in perpetuity to achieve their goal of 30 percent by 2030 and the future goal of 50 percent by 2050.
While ASL continues to have success stopping key portions of the program, most notably Natural Asset Companies earlier this year, there is much more that will be needed and hopefully, with a new administration, many of these plans and programs can be rolled back..
